For those interested in seeing what sort of vehicles you may see at this years zenoah challenge cup weekend, then have a look below at our racing classes.

Baja Class This class is aimed at the HPI Baja owner who fancies a bit of indoor racing and may have a buggy with an engine up to 30cc (1.8307 Cubic inch) and a standard fuel tank. Other restrictions will be relaxed. Remember safety is paramount. The Scrutineer’s decision will be final. If a rear wing or bumper are fitted then they should be made of flexible material.

4 Wheel Drive Class The four wheel drive buggies may use up to 30cc (1.8307 Cubic inch) engines and a fuel tank of 800cc. A maximum permitted size off 900mm x 480mm. Other restrictions will be relaxed. Remember safety is paramount. The Scrutineer’s decision will be final. If a rear wing is fitted then it should be made of flexible material with a max size of 315mm by 140mm and should not overhand the middle of the rear drive shafts no more than 230mm

2 Wheel Drive Class A two wheel drive buggy as a maximum engine of 26cc (1.5866 Cubic inch) engines will be permitted. Maximum size for fuel tanks 700cc  The maximum width of any part of the car, measured with the chassis pushed fully to the ground, will be 480mm. The maximum length of car from front bumper to rear of wing is 820mm. Height max 360mm fully compressed Weight min 8000grams. If a rear wing is fitted then it should be made of flexible material with a max size of 300mm by 140mm and should not overhand the middle of the rear drive shafts no more than 150mm

Short Course A short course truck is sold by the manufacture as a short course truck (or a manufactures conversion kit) with a maximum permitted engine of 30cc (1.8307 Cubic inch) using standard Zen Can or fully covered 3 chamber silenced exhaust meeting the general BRCA regulations. The fuel tank should not be able to hold any more than 1Lr of fuel. The maximum width of any part of the car, measured with the chassis pushed fully to the ground, will be 600mm. The maximum length of car from front bumper to rear of wing is 1000mm, height max 400mm fully compressed weight min 8000grams.

Safety Whilst the 3 day meeting is a fun event we need to make sure you are all safe so we recommend that along with wearing safety boots, gloves and an hi-viz top whilst in the arena your vehicle is safe too.

For example exhausts should be fitted in such a way to minimise the risk of a marshal or fellow driver getting burnt, also wings, bumpers or exposed panels should not be made of metal, carbon fibre or GRP. Likewise body posts should not be exposed as shown below.

Exhaust Any one planning on racing should be aware that open or unsilenced exhaust systems will not be allowed and it is recommended to use a 3 chamber silenced exhaust meeting the general BRCA regulations. In technical terms the maximum permitted sound level is 81 dB, measured at 1 metre above the track and no less than 10 metres from the car. This limit is required not only for the welfare of your fellow racer but our hosts and their livestock and is akin to levels seen at other motorsport events
